Independent Research

FreeFlow Research will conduct and facilitate research projects and host researchers who are producing scientific research that is carried on in the public interest.

The research may be either basic or applied and may include research carried on for the purpose of aiding a community or geographical area by attracting new industry to the community or area or by encouraging the development of, or retention of, an industry in the community or area.

FreeFlow Research will sponsor grants and stipends for independent scientists and entrepreneurs who are pursuing projects that support our purpose.

Through FreeFlow Research, scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs are able to apply for funding to private foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources to pursue basic and/or applied research in STEAM-related fields.

When a grant is awarded, FreeFlow Research takes on the grant administration, hires or hosts the grantees, and provides them with additional resources in exchange for a percentage of the grant award. Additional resources may include office or lab space, access to part time or full time research assistants, access to cloud computing resources, visa sponsorship for international grantees, and other services.

And because FreeFlow Research is co-located within San Antonio's top coworking spaces including The Entrepreneur Center of San Antonio and Geekdom, grantees will have access to amenities, services, and programs providing them with an unparalleled working environment.
